Argh. I came over here to write something important, and now I’ve forgotten it.
Must have not been too important.
So I’ll do something else.
Got my Katsucon prereg confirmation today. We’re flying out Thursday night (the 12th), layover in Atlanta, arriving in Washington just after midnight. Yuck. Leaving kinda early that Sunday morning, so I won’t be doing any con stuff that day. My new costumes for it are manga Belldandy and Honda Tohru – neither are over 50% complete in my book, at this point.
Only reason I wanted to go to school yesterday was to get an update on the Paris trip. There wasn’t one. Jerks! But going by initial info, we leave on March 5th, flying Northwest, straight to Paris. Despite this being a school trip and me getting two credits for it, once we’re there we can do whatever we want. And you could bring anybody with you wanted to, which is why Kristie and Ash are going with me. We def. want to go to the Louvre, the Ornay Museum, Versailles, Notre Dame, the Catacombs, that crazy Tower thing everybody wants to see, and shop. And we want to try to go over to London for a day. Because, I mean, ever since I was six the one place I’ve always wanted to go in the world was London… it would be unfair to be that close and not go, even if it’s just for a day…
MidSouthCon is the last weekend of March. I’m not making any new costumes for it, but I plan on going Friday night and most of the day Saturday. I’m probably going to wear Arwen CHase friday night, and both Amidalas on Saturday. I may try to finish my Padme battle suit to wear, just because I really don’t feel like wearing Senate again. It’s such a pain.
MTAC is the weekend right after MidSouthCon. I’ll definitely have my new Ozma costume ready by then, and hopefully Jack Sparrow, too. I may hold off on Jack Sparrow and finish him afterwards, though, esp. if I decided to finish battle Padme. Driving up on that friday and driving back on sunday. I love MTAC because everybody is so nice and laid back and there’s no rushing here and there like it is with everywhere else…
After that I have nothing until Comic Con in late July. I reserved my hotel rooms for it yesterday – waiting til after Paris to do my prereg. Need to start searching for plane tickets. For new costumes I’m planning on an Imperial Officer from Star Wars and Phoenix from X-Men, and if Jack Sparrow didn’t debut at MTAC, then that one will be counted as ‘new’ too.
And then of course Dragoncon. Ash’s mom has decided she’s going with us – not to chaperone us, but just because she reaaaaallly wants to go. She said she’s going to dress up as a wench. That cracks me up! Anyway. I have that one secret costume I’m definitely doing, and I was going to do Bespin Leia too but now I’m thinking of dropping that, esp. if I do battle Padme earlier in the year, because if I did Padme, Imperial Officer, Leia and my secret costume that’d be four Star Wars costumes in a year and that would be crazy. Other than that I don’t know what else – I may just leave it open for a while and see what comes to me.
Otherwise, costumewise, I’m planning on doing Megara from Hercules for Halloween, and somewhere in there I’m going to make Arwen’s Hope dress.
And in all that travelling I’m going to be doing Super Freak Out 5, another Stupid Ass comic, and finish inks on SunDowner 7.
Anyone asking about the status of 7 will get a rousing rendition of “Not Now John” by me. I’m still not happy AT ALL with the script, but I’ve decided it’s time to let it go and just finish it, for Christ’s sake.
